Thank you for letting us stay here.  We have thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful house, the porches, the hot tub and the kitchen.  All the bedrooms and the rest of the house are very well furnished in a nice, practical and thoughtful way.  Thank you again.  We hope to visit again.  Blessings on you and this home.

Hi Stephanie

Truly a fabulous venue.  Nothing lacking, nothing wanting.  The home is perfect!  There is a world of things to do in this area.  After the Biltmore Estate experience, we really enjoyed the Brevard/DuPont Forest area with tubing and all the great falls, swimming, hiking, viewing an amazing sequence of falls.  Cradle of Forestry, fun Bar-B-Que and ice cream offerings!  And of course, Chimney Rock and Lake Julian.  Thanks from the 10 of us!

Three generations of our family came from Boston, MA, Fairfax, VA and Chicago, IL to visit a part of the country that represents our heritage.  As descendants of the Penlands and Thomas Wolfe--we visited the Penland School of Arts & Crafts as well as the Thomas Wolfe "Old Kentucky Home" in Asheville, NC.  It was a delightful experience.  This lovely home was so welcoming and warm.  We hope to repeat this trip again.

"Priceless Memories in asheville!"

I would enthusiastically recommend this home to anyone looking for a vacation home in asheville. The kitchen had everything we needed from spices to every appliance you would need. The beds were sooo comfortable and the bedrooms were situated so that everyone had separate sleeping quarters. We enjoyed all of the books, travel information and Dvd's. The hot tub was very clean and appreciated the kit provided with the instructions to ensure the tub was ready for use. The flower gardens, albino squirrels, porches and outdoor play areas for my grandchildren were very enjoyable!  My granddaughters loved the books, stuffed animals, and beds in the playroom. The foosball game became a daily competition between my granddaughter and grandpa. We all had an amazing stay with priceless memories at a very comfortable home. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!

Wonderful, relaxing vacation.  We stayed at Julian Lake Lodge for a week and had the most amazing time. The home was beautifully furnished and stocked with everything you could possibly need. There were two washer and dryers which was wonderful. We had a small issue with the HUGE hot tub, made one call and within an hour someone was there and had it fixed, never another issue and enjoyed by everyone. Family came and joined us and at one point there were 14 of us in the home and never did it feel crowded. There was plenty of room for everyone with lots of seating both inside and out. We enjoyed the fire-pit every night and lounged on the deck to watch the pond with morning coffee. Our three granddaughters fished for the very first time (although two of them didn't have hooks because they were too little ;) ) and our grandson had so much fun exploring. So many memories were made. The leaves changed a lot through the week that we stayed adding to the beauty of the woods around us. The location was perfect, while we felt we were deep in the woods there, everything you could possibly need was just a few miles away. Everyone of us commented on how nice this home was and how we look forward to coming back in the future. Sincerely, one of the most relaxing vacations ever.

We had a wonderful time here at the Lodge.  The house was great--good location and very comfortable....and great for kids.  I would recommend it to anyone.  We enjoyed downtown Hendersonville, downtown Asheville, Thomas the Train in Bryson City, great horseback riding (even for babies) at Sandy Bottom, gem mining and more.  The house's location is great for a variety of activities.  We loved catching fireflies and watching wild turkeys and white squirrels in the yard.  This is a great house for small children.  Thanks!

We had a wonderful time here!  The house is fabulous, it felt like home away from home.  We would love to come back every time we visit Asheville.  The relatives we came to visit said how beautiful the house is and how they loved the decor.  You have provided almost everything we would ever need.  We had a perfect vacation stay!  The kids never got bored, they loved the playground and playroom.  The adults loved the comfy bedrooms and the hot tub.  The baby slept well in the crib and thank heaven for the stroller!  Thanks again for helping us have a wonderful vacation.

We 12 Red Tenters enjoyed this wonderful home and all the beautiful surroundings had to offer.  We visited, relaxed, walked, hiked, shopped, cooked, read, hot-tubbed, and even swung on the swings!  Nothing but pure enjoyment and lots of warmth and loved shared between friends.  We look forward to coming back!

Your Lodge was the perfect spot for our 40th Anniversary family get together. The setting is peaceful and quiet. The open plan of the house lends itself to a family gathering. The whole house is very well equipped. We loved the massage chair, the hot tub, the comfy beds, the great porches, and the dining room table big enough to fit a whole family. We appreciated all the baby equipment also, it made traveling much easier. The Mountain Laurel Lodge is a wonderful retreat!  -NY, CT, MA, and NC Fahy Family

The house was wonderful & in a beautiful setting! Very well-equipped for a fun family gathering including children. They loved the foosball table and the swingset was a hit! The kitchen was great for cooking and the deck was perfect for lounging and hot-tubbing!

We stayed at the Lodge with our niece and her family. We had a wonderful time, the house was great and had all things needed and more and the setting was beautiful!  The kids particularly enjoyed the playroom and outdoor playground.  We could relax and have meals together and enjoyed the porch for coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening. We would highly recommend this home.  We will keep your name and number in case we return to the area.  Thank you for your assistance with Biltmore tickets, we very much enjoyed the visit.

We came here for our son’s wedding at the Biltmore Estate. It was an absolutely breathingtaking ceremony! Thank you for letting us stay here at the Lodge. It made this special occasion even more remarkable. We absolutely enjoyed staying at this beautiful home. Thank you again.

Dear Stephanie

What an awesome home…we felt so welcome as we stepped in the front door.  The scenery is a gift to enjoy daily.  I had the upstairs queen bedroom and the bed was so comfortable and cozy.  We were enjoying a sister, daughter retreat and though I’ve not been blessed with any biological sisters, I have been “adopted” by three awesome sisters…now we’re “4.”  Thank you both for allowing your home to be rented for others to enjoy!  We look forward to a retrun trip in the not too distant future.

- Karen, Milton FL

Three female descendents of the Georgia Carter Clan and our 3 lovely daughters came to this lovely home for a sister/daughter retreat (plus your adopted sister, Karen). The home is beautiful and the interior decorating awesome! We visited the Biltmore, went out to eat, did a little shipping, but for the most part we stayed here, enjoyed the home and the mountains. I loved sitting on the porch listening to God’s voice whispering through the trees and enjoying the smell of the mountain air. God bless you, Stephanie, for making it possible for us to enjoy the peace and serenity we found here.

We picked the perfect venue and cabin. The Lodge is absolutely beautiful! The spaciousness of each room and the impeccable taste in interior decorations only added to our wonderful stay. I particularly enjoyed the pieces of art and was delighted each time I spotted a piece I had not previously observed. The lodge extended a warm from the moment we entered the door. We even took our family pictures inside and outside the lodge, the setting always proved to add a special touch to our priceless photos. Thank you for making sure we were able to "spoil" ourselves. I've never before stayed in a place where the owner showed such concern for my comfort; i.e. "call us when you arrive", and the follow-up call the day we left! Thank you again for helping us to have such luxurious accommodations while we made some special and warm memories.

My husband and I treat our three adult sons and their wives and our granddaughter to a long week-end get- away for the holidays. We chose Lodge this year and we could not have been more pleased. When we arrived it had a lit Christmas tree waiting for us in the beautiful living room. It even snowed for us (but lightly so we were still able to drive into Asheville. My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter enjoyed the Christmas Parade in Hendersonville and loved the playroom in the Lodge. I would love to come back when it is warm enough to enjoy the outside porches, swing sets, hot tub and just walking around the beautiful yard.  We picked the coldest week-end yet so the warm and cozy house was what we enjoyed the most. I would definitely recommed to anyone wanting a spacious place to stay with hosts who have thought of EVERYTHING to make your stay pleasant and comfortable. Thanks Stephanie!

- Ron & Rebecca, Charlotte NC

I found the house to be well appointed, everything you needed was there. The playroom upstairs for the children was absolutely great… I felt it was almost sound proof; they thoroughly enjoyed their time there, it was 2 boys and 3 girls. They had so much fun, they really weren't a problem. I felt very much at home there, the beds were comfy. I took a walk when my husband came and we visited Biltmore and malls while I was there. I would definitely come again! The appliances were the best, my daughter loved the vacuum, and my niece loved the washer & dryer, we really enjoyed it.

We had a wonderful time!  House has everything you could possibly need.  Very comfortable and pretty. Short ride to anything you want to do.  Thank you Stephanie and Robert.  They always answer when you call.

- The Cochran Family, Gonzales, LA

My girlfriend and I took my four grown kids and my four grandchildren to stay for a week at the Lodge.  The house was awesome and had everything a person would need.  The play room for the kids kept them busy the entire time.  Robert and Stephanie were great hosts and were on top of everything.  We had a little trouble with the internet when we first got there but Robert took care of it immediately.  Thanks Robert.  All of really enjoyed watching the white squirrels in the yard and the scenery was beautiful.  I would recommend this house to anyone for their vacation.
– Terry, Panama City, FL

This was an awesome mountain getaway! The house was incredible. There were 6 of us in the party and at no time did we feel like we were cramped or in each other's way. All the rooms were very comfortable and the house was clean. The refrigerator was large enough to hold enough food for six grown men. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need for each of your meals. The family room is large and comfortable with a great entertainment system and the instructions on how to use everything was easy to understand. The best part of the room was the massage chair, which got plenty of use after our day of white water rafting. The house was set back enough to give us privacy and there is enough room to play a full game of Frisbee golf. The hot tub was a perfect way to relax and made the house that much better.
